Riverside County CCW Initial 16 Hour Course

This course will provide you with the mandatory 16 hours of instruction as per California law. Students will need all handguns they intend to put on their CCW, a safe holster that secures the handgun and completely covers the trigger, and 150 rounds of ammunition per handgun.

This course in NOT for new shooters.  You must have the knowledge to safely manipulate your handgun, to include holstering and drawing from concealment, prior to taking this class.

As per RSO guidelines, applicants may take this course prior to submitting their CCW application. Having this course already completed should speed up your CCW approval process significantly.

The course cost below covers one gun for your CCW.  If you would like to add additional handguns, the fee of $20 for the second and third handguns will apply.  Any other added gun will be free of charge.

Pala Range will collect $30 per student as range fees, on the day of the course.

This course in NOT for new shooters.  You must have the knowledge to safely manipulate your handgun, to include holstering and drawing from concealment, prior to taking this class. 

You must have received the approval notice from MyCCW prior to taking this course.

This course is for new shooters and is primarily focused on safely using your handgun, storing it safely, how your gun works and how to shoot accurately and confidently at targets at closer ranges.

​

What you need to bring- your handgun (unloaded and in a lock box), 50 rounds of ammunition, eye and ear protection.  We recommend wearing a hat, a full length shirt (no tank tops), and closed toe shoes. 

​

We do have multiple brands of pistols to rent for classes if you do not own one yet.  This is also a great way to see what firearm fits you best.  Please contact us for our list.

This course will go over movement with your handgun, transitions from targets, reloading and clearing common handgun malfunctions. Shooting distance will increase.

What you need to bring- your handgun (unloaded and in a lock box), at least 2 magazines, magazine pouch, 100 rounds of ammunition, eye and ear protection.  We recommend wearing a hat, a full length shirt (no tank tops), and closed toe shoes.

This course focuses on safely shooting and reloading on the move.  You will learn multiple shooting positions as well as engaging longer distances.

​

What you need to bring- your handgun (unloaded and in a lock box), a holster, at least 2 magazines, at least 1 magazine pouch, 100 to 150 rounds of ammunition, eye and ear protection.  We recommend wearing a hat, a full length shirt (no tank tops), and closed toe shoes.

Course Cost: $120

This class will give you everything you need to have a great day on the range with your AR15.  We will go over  the operation of AR15/M4 style rifles and will give you a good understanding of the features of your rifle, how to efficiently load, shoot, make it safe and clean it.  Shooters will learn how to correct common malfunctions and get your rifle back into action.  We will shoot targets up to 100 yards during this course.

​

What you need to bring- your rifle (unloaded and in a rifle case), 60 to 100 rounds of ammunition, 2 magazines eye and ear protection and a cleaning kit if you have one.  We recommend wearing a hat, a full length shirt (no tank tops), and closed toe shoes.

If you do not own a rifle, we have rentals available for $30 per class.  Ammunition must be purchased and brought to this class.
